CTTA Benefits

Membership Benefits

CTTA continues to look for new and innovative ways to enhance the value of the membership of the association. These benefits are available to all members of the association, which includes Associate, Affiliate and Allied members. The association welcomes recommendations for additional benefits available which would help increase our membership. Please make sure you read the Towline for any updates and changes.

"TOWLINE" PUBLICATION – Published semi-monthly, the CTTA’s “TOWLINE” contains current and relevant information pertaining to the towing industry, a calendar of events, training schedules, and meeting notices.

TRAINING PROGRAM – CTTA members and their employees pay a nominal amount to attend classes. Hands on classes include Light Duty Level 1 (2 days), Light Duty Level 2 (1 day), and Heavy Duty Level 6 (3 day). Our Training Department continues to research new and innovative techniques to improve training. Some classes currently on the “drawing board” include Management, Dispatching and Fork Lift Certification. Our training program is approved by the CHP Tow Service Agreement Advisory Committee and remains one of CTTA’s most popular and important benefits.

LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM – Seeking to secure the most advantageous position for the towing industry (Large operators and small operators alike), the CTTA constantly researches legislation and laws. In the past, the Association has written or sponsored more than 25 legislative revisions, which were subsequently adopted. In addition, CTTA has amended a number of bills that affect the towing industry through direct involvement with the legislature.

LIAISON WITH THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL – CTTA represents its members on the CHP’s Tow Service Agreement Advisory Committee (TSAAC) and works on an ongoing basis with CHP and other state agencies to ensure the most expeditious removal of disabled vehicles from California's roadways and the best possible service to the motoring public.

LIAISON WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES – CTTA engages ongoing communication with the DMV on issues relevant to lien sales and other related topics.

MEMBER TO MEMBER CHECK GUARANTEE – The Association guarantees company checks, not exceeding $1,000.00 written by CTTA members to fellow members.

MICHELIN NORTH AMERICA – The CTTA has negotiated a tremendous program exclusively for members. All commercial truck tires and fork lift tires can be purchased at a 35% to 52% discount through the Association's National Account Program.

CREDIT CARD PROCESSING – Credit card processing is available from one of our Associate Members with attractive rates and fees already negotiated. Check Guarantee service is also available so our drivers can accept checks on the road without concern.

CALIFORNIA PREFERRED CREDIT UNION – (Formerly UNIPAC Federal Credit Union) Offers membership to CTTA members and their employees. Members of the Credit Union may finance commercial vehicles, equipment, and liability insurance.

EMPLOYER SERVICES – Assistance in hiring new employees is available for CTTA members through Associate members, including background checks, drug and alcohol screening.
